Dr. Arvinder Singh Disability Rights Awareness Program in Udaipur
An awareness program focusing on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act) and government welfare schemes was successfully organized at the Government Senior Secondary School for the Visually Impaired (Pragya Chakshu Andh), Ambamata, Udaipur. The program was conducted by Panacea Disability Rights Activists with the objective of empowering students through awareness and education.
The session was led by Dr. Arvinder Singh, a three-time World Record holder and a respected professional associated with Arth Diagnostics. Addressing the students and school staff, Dr. Singh provided detailed insights into the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, explaining the legal rights, government benefits, and support systems available for persons with disabilities. He strongly emphasized awareness, self-reliance, and confidence as key pillars for social inclusion and personal growth.
Dr. Singh also highlighted various government welfare schemes, educational support programs, healthcare benefits, and employment-related provisions designed to empower persons with disabilities. Students were encouraged to actively understand and utilize these facilities to build an independent, dignified, and self-sustaining future.
During the interaction, School Principal Ms. Neelam Maheshwari raised important concerns related to garbage dumping within the school premises, the presence of stray dogs, and the urgent need for ramp construction to improve accessibility for students. Representatives from Panacea Disability Rights Activists assured the school administration that they would coordinate with the relevant government departments to address these issues promptly.
The program concluded with a felicitation ceremony, during which Dr. Arvinder Singh and other representatives were honored for their significant contributions toward promoting disability rights, accessibility, and inclusive development.
